District 3
District 3 is located in the southern east-side of Michigan and has the following counties: Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Wayne.
The grower representative is Richard Janssens from Monroe, Michigan in Monroe County. Richard has served on the checkoff board since 2008.
Richard has been farming all his life and currently farms 125 acres in corn, soybeans, and winter wheat rotation. In addition to farming Richard worked for Detroit Edison Electric Utility Company.
Richard actively serves as a Trustee on the Monroe Charter Township Board and Monroe County Ag Council. He also serves as Chair for the Monroe County Farm Bureau Board Promotion and Education Committee.
