District 1
District 1 is located in the southern west-side of Michigan and has the following counties: Berrien, Branch, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren.
The grower representative is Herb Miller from Niles, Michigan located in Cass County. Herb has served on the soybean checkoff board since 2006.
Herb operates a fourth generation farm with a crop rotation of corn, soybeans, and wheat. He also raises hay and has a small herd of beef cattle. Herb retired from the United Parcel Service after 28 years of service. He currently is farming full-time.
Herb also serves as a Cass County Farm Bureau Director and Beef Supervisor for the county fair.
